Johnny Gao is vice president and general manager of Avery Dennison Materials Group, North Asia. In this role, he is responsible for the region’s overall strategy and meeting its short and long-term business, financial and operating objectives. Johnny’s previous position was vice president and general manager of Label and Packaging Materials, Greater China, where he oversaw strategic initiatives for profitable growth in core businesses and high-value categories, and implemented processes that streamlined manufacturing operations and improved productivity.
Johnny’s Avery Dennison career spans more than 25 years. During this time, he has held roles in multiple Materials Group businesses, leading operations, supply chain, technical services, sales and marketing functions. In 2017, Johnny was appointed as general manager, Label and Packaging Materials, ASEAN, and later as vice president and general manager, Label and Packaging Materials, China. He is an alumnus of Fundan University, Shanghai, China.
